dani b, (a.k.a Danielle Tapper) was born in Ocean Twp. New Jersey. As far back as she can remember, she has always had a special love for music and performing. By age four, she was belting out Broadway tunes accompanied by her mother on on their old Steinway. However, when at age sixteen, dani wrote the song, "Where so all the summers go?" she realized that music was just more than a hobby - it was to be her life.
For the next few years dani continued composing and performing. At family functions, on a cruise ship in front of thousands, and even on the piano of famous Broadway composer Andrew Lloyd-Webber while interning for a Broadway Producer,during a high school banquet, dani has always felt at home with music. It was during her final year at the Tisch School of Arts at New York University when dani's music career truly began. She was approached to write a musical for the stage, a dream of hers which she was not about to pass up. A year and a half later, Class Reunion was born. This full length musical features fifteen songs all written and composed with dani. The show ran for several sold-out nights in a New Jersey theater.
In addition to playing music, dani's other love is working with children. This became apparent during her summers as a counselor at a Pennsylvania sleep-away camp. During the last six years she truly became a unique part of the camp. By combining her musical talents and her love of working with children, dani was able to instill in the camp a special affinity for and appreciation of music.
At twenty-three years of age, dani realized her greatest achievement would be to combined her two passions, music and working with children, into one career. In September of '98 dani b completed her first children’s CD, Life is Sweet, for which she was named a finalist for Best New Artist for the Children Music Web awards. In 2000, after receiving a grant from the Ohio Arts Council, dani b released her second CD, Me and You which received a Parent's Choice Award for recommended audio for young children.
dani b has peformed over 400 concerts thourghout Ohio, Pennsylvanis, New york and New Jersey. dani b's songs are terrific stories put to music and are best suited for 2 - 8 yr. olds. However, her catchy tunes and clever lyrics often get parents singing along. What is even more exciting is how dani b is able to make her songs come alive during her wonderful interactive concerts.
In 2002 dani b created her own line of "mommy and me" music classes for childrens ages 6 mos. to 4years under the title of "dani b & me sing along." Within the next few years she expanded the classes to include musical theatre classes for children ages 5 through 10 and all boys rythym and music classes.
"I think we all have a part inside of us which never grows up, and that part is silly, and loves to giggle, and yearns to have fun, and doesn't really care what anyone else thinks. I hope my music brings alive that child in everyone." dani b
